Actually, We Don’t Read Any Books for Our “Book Club” Either

As a diabetic, I’m hurt that my doctor never suggested that one to me.
So, did it go better with mustard or ranch dressing?
Wonderbutt likes his books the same as his wit – dry.
Let’s just hope his lack of interest towards furniture has not turned into a passion for books… 🙂
Actually, books were his first love. Or carpeting. I can’t remember which he demolished initially as a puppy, but he turned to furniture late in life – about 6 months.
Perhaps with a dab of catsup???
Catsup does seem to make anything taste good, doesn’t it?
SUCH a learned bulldog…
Well, he did graduate from Puppy Kindergarten, after all. Sadly, that is where his formal schooling stopped.
I have that book home from the library, but haven’t read it. Maybe Wonderbutt and I can discuss it! Or, I’ll read it to Elka, and they can be pen pals (paw pals?)
Wonderbutt would prefer to discuss its culinary promise, rather than the literary aspects.
I think I’ve heard it’s the glue in books that makes them smell so delicious? But of course, newer books don’t really smell the same way old books do. There are some books my library owns that I just have to take a whiff of every once in awhile (especially those gilt-edged leather bound ones with the silky ribbon bookmark…..)
Good for you Wonderbutt. I also have a bookclub but, mostly, we have no idea where the books are (probably also being eaten by our dogs somewhere). In truth, it’s a wine and dinner club, called bookclub so the men get scared off and leave us alone.
We did start by reading assigned books, then graduated to just discussing any books we’d read, and are finally at the phase of discussing anything but books.
I loled at this description!! So true!
I have a feeling it’s like the 5 Stages of Grief. Except only 3, and we aren’t grieving, of course.
I would like to join WB’s book club. I love not reading. I’ll not read on Mom’s Kindle.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Wonderbutt prefers the texture of actual books to the hard, in-flexible screen of the e-versions. Though he does find the latter quite lickalicious.
Maybe you should give him an actual diabetic owl.
We apparently have an owl in our backyard, but we can’t seem to find him. We hear him in the mornings. Maybe this summer I will hunt him down and give him a blood test. I’m sure eating all of those mice can’t be good for your cholesterol, though I’m not sure if they induce diabetes.
As an actual member of the “book” club, I declare WB an honorary member! Maybe as a member he is trying to suggest our “next” book.
I think he might be using process of elimination to make our selection easier.
Ahhh I’m dying to read the new David! Wonderbutt clearly has wonderful taste.
Oh, he does. Though his taste strangely coincides with mine, and no other family members’.
he’s such an erudite bulldog.
Please tell me this means you are reading the “Divergent” series. Or do you just commonly use the word “erudite”?
hey such a wonderful and totally awesome pet. He seems to says, nothing comes between me and my book. You have great companion:)
Actually, he is saying, “Nothing comes between me and my human – including the book that she is spending far too much time paying attention to instead of me so I obviously must eat it and make it disappear and then she will always play with me and never leave me.”
::)
